It is not good to starte training en pointe too young, before the bones are developed. What is more important than what other dancers are doing is how well you are training, how well you study, what you know. Being a dancer doesn't exclude you from needing to know how to read, write, know history, music and foreign languages. Your line must be straight and your joints not out of alignment en pointe. Your movements must be clean and sharp. Your torso must be erect and balanced, and your axis of support directly over your contact with the floor. You must be able to land quietly on the floor without noise. You must feel your way through your up and down movements, in relation to the floor. The floor is your instrument, and you must push through it, brush across it, step onto it with a conscious sense of relationship and the sounds you are making. Your slippers must be well made, and you can reinforce the box with white shellac on the inside, and darning in overlapping V's on the toe with heavy heavy thread, so the slippers will last for months. You must read ballet history and learn about it so you know if you are getting good training or not. You must learn to read and listen to music, especially rhythm training. You have to hear and be able to know if it is a waltz, polonaise, or mazurka being played, and how to dance to it.

12-13 is the most typical age people start pointe so really you are right where you should be! i've seen younger and older people get on pointe but your right at that average age. =)
i got min during sixth grade...just a bit before you. But most studios seem to start right around 13
you can never be ahead in dance there is always room to develop. look up Janice bar anger books and Vito's.if you think u have passed what the school can offer move on to a pro school then u will see. not 2 b mean, but even the core DE ballet is always striving 2 get better to become a principal some day and she will say she is not yet mastered the art
